Psalm 85: 10-11: “Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven”.
Many have wilfully denied themselves the great gift of love from God, not understanding God and His operations. They forgot that God is a Spirit and in trying to understand God or explain His working from a fleshly point of view, they missed God.
We read in I Corinthians chapter 12 of the diversity of the operations of God in His gifts but it is the selfsame Spirit giving, distributing to every man as He wills.
1 Corinthians 12: 11-12: “All these are the work of the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines. Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ”. If God has created man with many parts yet one body, and He has created man in His likeness, then understanding the concept of the Trinity should not be rocket science for anyone open to deduction and truth. God is One and He manifests Himself in His love and majesty as the Author of creation, as the Author of salvation, and as the Author of life unto man, the crown of His creation.
God made man in His image and likeness, man fell into disobedience, sinned, and died. Who shall save man, is it angels or the blood of animals? God created man in His image and likeness, so man is god (Psalm 82:6; John 10:34). It will take someone greater than man to save man, only God can save gods and because God so loved man, He gave His only Begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. He was Begotten not created for by Him all things were created and for Him (Colossians 1: 16-17). He is God who reincarnated in His creation to pay for the sin of man, for only the just can pay the price for the unjust.
Let us picture this, man was made in the image and likeness of God, God is a Spirit so man before the fall was a spirit. So man sinned as a spirit and descended, condemned to the flesh, the carnal nature we now know of man. So the conditions for the salvation and redemption of man have to fulfill spiritual laws and requirements. Only God can fulfill His righteous requirements for the soul that sins, it shall die and no other death can satisfy this condition save the soul of one in Godlikeness.
God is merciful but He will not flout spiritual law for He is above impunity and lawlessness. There was a need, and He gave Himself to pay the price for man in His reincarnation.
God introduced Himself to Moses in Exodus chapter 34 and verse 6: “And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD (the Self Existent One), the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.” God is who He says He is, He reveals Himself in His names and His attributes. He is merciful and He forgives sin because He is Mercy, but then He will not flout His righteous requirements because He is the Truth. So God who is the Truth, reincarnated in human form to fulfill the righteous requirements for the soul of man that has sinned so that man might be set free. Truth not only sets out standards, rules, and requirements of God but Truth also sets free. You will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free (John 8: 32). Only God is merciful because He is Mercy, only God is Truth and hence He alone can make free, not angels, not blood of animals. Hence salvation is in no other except Christ. Acts 4: 12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Mercy and Truth have met together. God who is merciful gave Himself in reincarnation to fulfill the righteous demand (Truth), so that man might be eternally set free and reconciled to God. We read in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 19: “To wit, that God (Mercy) was in Christ (Truth), reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.” So Truth took on the flesh in reincarnation. We read in John chapter 1 verse 1 “In the beginning was the Word (Truth), and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” In verse 14 of the same chapter we read: ” And the Word (Truth) was made flesh. The Word, that is the Truth reincarnated and He dwells among men. In Him is life, the life man had lost through sin, and this life that is in the Truth was the light of men. The effect of Mercy and Truth meeting together is our righteousness which comes as a gift from heaven not by our works but also our peace with God. Verse 11 of Psalm 85 reads: “Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven.” That Truth shall spring out of the earth connotes it was sown in the earth like a seed, buried and then springs forth in resurrection. “For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption” (Psalm 16: 10). The Just (Jesus Christ) died for the unjust (man) and has fulfilled the righteous demand of God was raised from the dead so that we by faith in Him are raised up together with Him unto God. This is the outcome of Mercy and Truth meeting together, even our salvation and it is the operation of God.
Our Lord Jesus who is the Truth (John 14:6) told the people in verse 1 of the same chapter of John “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” Many trusted in the mercy of God, but God who is merciful said He will by no means clear the guilty in verse 7 of Exodus chapter 34. And all men are guilty, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ( Romans 3: 23). God had made provision for our acquittal, set us free from our guilt and we vitally access this provision by faith. Anyone who denies the Truth, the reincarnation of the Truth, and the propitiatory work of the Truth has nothing to atone for his or her sin anymore and can only await the fearful judgment of God. For this is the condemnation that light (Truth) has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil (John 3: 19).
The merciful God has demonstrated His love and has done the needful in giving us His only Begotten, the Truth, who paid the penalty for our sin that we might inherit righteousness that comes from God and not our works as well as His peace through faith in Jesus Christ, the Truth. Mercy and Truth have met together and the Lord shall set us in the paths of righteousness (in the way of His steps) for His namesake.
