1Cor 1: 30 “But of Him (God) are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption”
As believers, we are much aware and are taught that Christ our Lord is our righteousness, our sanctification and our redemption. These are the packages of our salvation, but the strength of our salvation is not so emphasised.
But wisdom is the principal thing as revealed in Proverbs chapter 4 verse 7, so we must embrace wisdom as much as we embrace righteousness, sanctification and redemption.
Why is this important? Because wisdom is the strength of our salvation as the book of Isaiah chapter 33 verse 6 says. Why is wisdom the strength of our salvation, because of its foundation.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, it is foundational, and the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. Our salvation is not devoid of the fear of the Lord. Though wisdom was with God as Proverbs chapter 8 reveals “The Lord possessed me (Wisdom) in the beginning of His way, before the works of old”, yet our Lord Jesus in the days of His flesh was heard in that He feared God (Heb 5: 7). Wisdom cannot be separated from the fear of the Lord.
The body of believers must begin in earnest to embrace wisdom given to us in Christ. This wisdom we know from the epistle of James 3 verse 17 is pure, peaceable, gentle, easily intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Those who embrace Him must be like Him, for wisdom is justified of her children.
We are the children of wisdom, and we must represent the substance of His creativeness through the manifestation of the power and ability of a sound mind. We must also represent the substance of His spirituality by being pure, peaceable, gentle, easily intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
The body of believers must come to the measure of the fulness of the stature of Christ who is wisdom for God had purposed to show us off to the principalities and power in heavenly places, the manifold wisdom (the diversity of sons of wisdom) of God (Ephe 3: 10).
Let us hear from wisdom the conclusion of the matter in Proverbs 8 verse 34 to 36
“Blessed is the man (and the woman) that hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors (our assemblies and personal bible study). For whoso finds me finds life and shall obtain favour of the Lord. But he that sinneth against Me wrongs his own soul, all they that hate me love death”.
Lord Jesus, You are our wisdom and we embrace you as our Lord and our wisdom and the strength of our salvation. We release the power of Your creative ability in us and the power of Your resurrected life by the power of Your Spirit that is in us to the praise and glory of God our Father.
