Live the New Life

Living the new life is a fundamental issue that most believers have always had to grapple with, whereas the scripture speak in the book of Romans chapter 6 that we should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4 ” For we were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death; that as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in the newness of life”.

It is vital that we take to heart the reality of our new creation in Christ. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 we read: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”. The world as we see it today is living off the grace of this new order of creation, not born of blood or of the desire of the flesh or by the will of men but of God (John 1: 13). A new generation accounted to Christ (Psalm 22: 30-31) by a new covenant ratified by the blood of Christ. No man should be deceived, old things, the old generation of Adam that sold out to Satan, have passed away, judged and condemned. The grace we have now is for the salvation of men, that they might escape the judgement that has come upon the world. When our Lord Jesus died, His death condemned the old world order. Hebrews chapter 9 verse 26 reads: “… but now once in the end of the world hath Christ appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself”.

When God told Adam in Genesis chapter 2 verse 17 saying: “For in the day you eat of it (the tree of the knowledge of good and evil), you will surely die”. Adam and Eve ate contrary to the word of the law and both died (and all men after him) but they continued to exist and even had children. The existence of the world does not negate the condemnation of the Prince of this world and the old world in which he held sway (John 16: 11). But in Christ a new government is birthed which is upon His shoulders, a new kingdom where our Lord Jesus holds sway not the devil anymore, a new kingdom whose dominion shall have no end (Isaiah 9: 6).

The resurrection of Christ on the other hand raised a new generation of men and women through faith in Him. He has enacted a new generation of men and women out of every tribe and tongue and people and nations, which He redeemed by His own blood. Revelation 5: 9 reads: “And they sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals; for You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nations”. The door is open to every man; faith in Christ and in His death and resurrection is all a man needs to be part of this new order of creation.

It is time we wake up to the new and live it. We have seen, purchased by the blood of Christ from the old taskmaster, the Prince of this world. We belong to a new Master, the One who redeemed us by His own blood to God because of His great love for man. Apostle Peter in the epistle 1Peter chapter 2 verse 9 declares: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that should show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness (the old world order condemned with its Prince) into this wonderful light”.

We are not to be conformed to the standard of this world, for the same world exist by the grace bestowed on us through Christ. Why are we then living off the world, it is like the princes walking on foot and servants riding on horses. We should wake up and live the new life of men, redeemed out of every tribe and tongue and people and nations by the blood. We are the peculiar people, not the world, and we should live as people who are in the light to the praises of God in the midst of the darkness in the world.

The book of Romans chapter 13 verses 12 to 14 reads: “The night is far gone, the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light. Let us walk properly as in daytime not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarrelling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ and made no provision for the flesh to gratify its desires”. This is our responsibility, a continual sanctification of putting on the Lord Jesus. The angel of the LORD told Apostle John the Beloved in Revelation 22:10 and 11: “…seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. Let him that is unjust let him be unjust still, and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still, and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still and he that is holy, let him be holy still”. But we know in Christ we have been called to righteousness. Let us awake as new creation and live the new as royal priesthood, a holy nation, for behold our Lord cometh quickly and His reward is with Him to give to every man according to his work (Revelation 22: 12).

In Hebrews 11 verse 7 we read how Noah by faith condemned the world. The day he entered the Ark was the day the judgement of the world was sealed. But while Noah was building of the Ark, the world existed off his grace, perchance that they might repent and be saved. Likewise, the death of Christ signifies the condemnation of the world. The world only exists by the grace of Christ Jesus, our Lord (John 1: 16) upon the church. The day the church will be raptured, caught up, the same day the judgement of the world will be sealed. The grace we have now is to bring salvation to men and women, and not for those who are in Christ to fall away. Why will those of us who have believed be joined to the world and be judged with the world from which we have been redeemed. It is time to wake up and live in the newness of life after the One who died for us (2 Corinthians 5:15).

It is time for believers everywhere to live the new life and to put on the new self created after the likeness of God in true holiness. As many as receive Him and who believed in His name gave He power to live the new life as children of God (John 1: 12) We should put off the old self which belongs to the former way of life and which is corrupt through deceitful desires, and let the Spirit of Christ renew our thoughts and attitudes (Ephesians 4: 22-24).

No one in His right mind will jump into a sinking ship (which is what this world is). But we have the mind of Christ, and we have been redeemed by His blood, let us wake up and live true to our new creation reality.
